A Conversation On Chin Mudra

A student was watching some series with her housemate while chatting with me on facebook chat.

I asked her was it a happy series?

She said it was something happy.

And so, I said to her, it is sattvic inputs.

She asked, sattvic inputs???

And here is the rest of our conversation…

rajas, tamas, sattva…

rajas – active, passionate

tamas – lazy, darkness

sattva – light, calmness

and sattva is happy???

happy can be any one of them…

some people are happy being lazy

some people are happy being active and passionate

some people are happy being peaceful

so what is sattvic????

rajas is to overcome tamas

sattvic is something to overcome rajas

but yoga is overcoming/transcending all the three energy including sattva.

wow..lou si..no wonder guru said you are A student..hehehehe….

ha…ha…ha..

remember what I said about Chin Mudra?

circulate energy??

there’s deeper meaning for it

what does the thumb represent?

the index finger?

the middle finger?

the ring finger?

the little finger?

heheheheh…forgot already…

no problem…

it’s an okay sign…

everything is okay…

right?

hahahhahah….ya ya
how can I forget that..hahahahha

he..he…he…

it’s more than that…

the little finger is representing tamas

the ring finger is representing rajas

the middle finger is representing sattva

can you guess what does the index finger and the thumb represent?

let me guess
sattvic..???

sattvic and sattva is same thing

sattva is something sattvic

who are “you”?

nothing…
I am nothing…

who is this “nothing”?

I

who is this “I”?

dunno…

hmm…

who is the one “dunno”?

me

are you the mind?

are you the body?

are you the senses?

are you the intellect?

who are you?

@_@

we all are the same consciousness “called” the Self…

before we realize that and are not pure, we are the lower self with the function of the mind and the ego

and after we realize that and are pure, we are the higher Self which is not affected by the mind and the ego

and the Self is the witness of everything and all the experiences of good and bad, know and don’t know…

the index finger is representing the lower self

the thumb is representing the higher Self

but they are never separated

they are joined together at the hand all the time

wow…..
I m looking at my hands now

when we are not pure, we are the lower self

when we are pure, we are the higher Self

but “they” are the one same consciousness

before we realize the truth, they seem to be separated

the index finger is index finger, the thumb is the thumb

after we realize the truth, they are just part of the hand but are being called “index finger” and “thumb”

we are always the same consciousness before and after purification

it is not becoming something else

Chin Mudra reminds us about the goal of yoga practice

after we had transcended all the three energy

and not being affected or influenced by the three energy anymore

we are free from qualities/impurities

even sattva is not pure

it is still a quality

the Self is without/beyond quality

It is beyond duality, good and not good

when we haven’t transcended the three energy, the lower self is in control

when we had transcended the three energy, the higher Self is in control

but it is still the same consciousness

never been separated

happy feeling is still a quality

once we had transcended happy feeling

that is beyond the state of mind

there is no happiness, no unhappiness

it is pure bliss that is not a quality

quality will change, will disappear

pure bliss is always there, it never change, never disappear

when we are not pure, we cannot connect with this pure bliss

and mistaken happy feeling as happiness

true happiness is not a feeling

it’s not something that we feel

it is beyond feelings

feeling is still something within the mind

the mind is feeling happy

and this will change also

the state of peacefulness and calmness will change also

once we are beyond this state of “feeling happy and feeling peaceful and calm”

………

we obtain the true happiness…

that is yoga – reunite with the higher Self

It seems that the india trip was a fruitful trip…

that’s nothing to do with India my dear…

yoga is not in India…

it’s right here, right now, all the time…

goodnight…
